IGA Role: Landscape Design
Collaborations: With 109 Architects
Location: Istanbul, Turkey
The landscape design is based on the following guidelines:
1.
An approach combining the nature-like and the man-made. Expressing harmony and reconciliation. Combining natural and man-made trimmed trees.
2.
An integration and interaction with the surrounding environment. The design creates connections with the adjacent university’s main courtyard, mosque plaza and creek walk.
3.
The view framed by the wild and alignment trees. The latter are strategically located to create glimpses and openings from and to the site in question.
4.
The use of water as a way-finding means and an interaction to highlight certain architectural elements such as the entrances and the planetarium.
