IGA Role: Architecture and Landscape Design
Location: Rachana, Lebanon
Rachana’s 3 Basbous Brothers were recognized in the early 50’s for their talent in the field of sculpting. Transforming Rachana into a “Village Museum”, their artistic works not only included sculptures, but also paintings and the design and construction of their own houses and workshops.
Alfred Basbous’ house was another opportunity for their artistic experiments in the 70s. The design was built around the natural light quality and the framing of the surrounding views.
